arts and sports"
My name is Maaike van Koeverden. I was born in the Netherlands. Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve had a passion for drawing, and I dreamed of becoming an animator at Walt Disney Studios.
When I was 12, I tried football for the first time and instantly fell in love with it. That sparked a deep passion for both playing and watching sports. My love for Formula One also grew over time. In 2022, I began sharing my Formula 1 and football illustrations and animations on Instagram, and that’s when I realized this was the path I wanted to pursue.
My art process
I create dynamic, digital illustrations and paintings of Formula 1 drivers and football athletes, but my creativity goes beyond sports. I also make animations, backgrounds and explore various other artistic styles.
My digital process starts with a rough sketch in Procreate, followed by base colours, detailed elements, and finally, my favourite part- highlights en lighting. I often add a green or blue outline to complement the piece. That's my unique artistic touch!
Wether digital or on canvas, my goal is to bring the energy and passion of sport to life through my art.
